Florist Care & Handling
Waxflower is exceptionally hardy but its woody stems require clean pathways to avoid vascular clogging from its natural aromatic oils.
- Processing: Strip away lower, needle-thin foliage that will rest below the water level to prevent bacterial decay.
- Hydration Setup: Using sharp, heavy-duty commercial bypass shears or branch loppers, apply a clean, deep angled cut to the woody stem base (avoid smashing the stems).
- Conditioning: Place immediately into deep, clean buckets filled with fresh water treated with professional foliage or flower preservative. Allow 2 to 4 hours to fully hydrate in a cool holding room or chiller before arranging.
