Florist Care & Handling
Veronica stems are highly active drinkers and benefit from strict post-harvest hygiene to protect their active, growing tips.
- Processing: Unpack carefully and strip away all lower, soft leaves. Dense veronica foliage left below the waterline can decay rapidly and cause premature bacterial clogging.
- Hydration Setup: Give stems a sharp, clean angled cut of about an inch using a sterile floral knife or sanitized shears. Submerge immediately into deep, fresh water treated with professional flower preservative.
- Conditioning: Allow the stems 12 to 24 hours at room temperature to fully rehydrate and expand. Once the foliage and flower spikes feel strong and rigid, transfer the buckets into a cool floral chiller away from direct sunlight and severe drafts.
