Florist Care & Handling
Lisianthus stems are tough but require pristine water pathways to ensure top-heavy buds hydrate and open flawlessly. Process them immediately upon arrival: carefully strip away any low foliage that could sit below the water level. Using a very sharp knife or sanitized commercial cutters, trim the stems at a deep 45-degree angle (avoid blunt bypass shears that crush the stem tissue). Place immediately into fresh, clean water treated with professional flower food. For event design, allow 24 to 48 hours at room temperature to encourage the secondary buds to safely open and expand.
