Hyacinths have soft, delicate stems and release a thick, clear sap that can cloud vase water.
- The Basal Plate Advantage: For maximum longevity (up to 12 days), do not cut off the hardened base (basal plate) of the stem upon arrival. Simply wash off any greenhouse sand or grit under cool water.
- Standard Hydration: If you must trim the stems to fit specific design grids, use a sharp knife to cut straight across rather than at an angle to reduce sap leakage. Place immediately in shallow water (5-7 cm) with professional flower preservative.
